CSMS  Announcements

OCTOBER 17, 2014

  1. Attention all students:

Do you like acting, performing, improv, or just learning about theatre?  If you answered yes to any of these, you will want to join the Drama Club!  It is great way to make friends, have fun, and learn more about acting!  If interested, come to Mrs. Morrison’s room, 721, and pick up an information packet.

  1. The CSHS football and volleyball games against Consol are just around the corner on Oct. 24, so the Cougar Club has planned a community pep rally and hamburger dinner for Wednesday, Oct. 22. Order your dinners starting today at cshscougarclub.com and plan to attend this Cougar community pep rally in support and recognition of our Cougars and our CSMS Cubs!

  2. Hey Cubs!

Starting next week, we will be collecting items to donate to the troops! You will be receiving a flyer as well as an email with items needed. Boxes to collect these items will be located outside of the principals office. Stay tuned and bring those goods!

  1. TWIN CITY MISSIONS COAT DRIVE! CUBS,  BRING YOUR GENTLY WORN COATS, JACKETS,OR SWEATERS THAT YOU NO LONGER WEAR AND DONATE THEM TO THE COAT DRIVE.  THE DONATION BOX IS LOCATED NEAR THE FRONT DOOR OF THE NEW OFFICE AREA. DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 7, 2014.

  1. GOOOOOOOD MORNING CSMS!!

As you all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month in the United States.  I bet you didn't know that in 2014, there were more than 2.8 million women with a history of breast cancer in the U.S.  This includes women currently being treated and women who have finished treatment.

In order to help battle this statistic, your CSMS dance team will be collecting donations next week, October 20th - 24th.  The money raised will go to a local non-profit organization  called the Pink Alliance that assists women in our own community who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Donations will be accepted before school each day in the back hall and gym by two of the dance team girls.  They'll have a sign and a pink bucket; you won't be able to miss them!  So go home, dig through the couch cushions, ask Mom and Dad for spare change and help your dance team raise money for a worthy cause!  We'll also be near the gate at next week's home game accepting donations as well!

Also, on Friday, October 24th we are going to have a Pink Out CSMS Day!!  Find all your best shades of pink and show your support!

  1. The 7th grade Lady Cubs played last night against the Huntsville Lady Hornets at CSMS gym. The Black team swept the Lady Hornets 25-10 and 25-14. The leading scorers were Maddie Petrick with 14 points and Mikaela Babasoro with 10 points. The Purple team also swept the Lady Hornets 25-11 and 25-6. Brayli Edwards was the leading scorer with 12 points. Amy Hu, Rebekah Hailey, and Gracie Madigan had great serves throughout the match. Both teams had a lot of hustle and played great defense. The next game will be at Jane Long next Thursday. Come support your Lady Cubs!

  1. Hey cubs. Please remember Tuesday is our Throwback/Decades Day at CSMS. Please show our cubs some support at the pep rally by dressing from your favorite decade (50's, 60's, 70's, 80's or 90's.)

  1. The 8th grade Lady Cubs defeated the Huntsville Lady Hornets in two matches Thurs. evening. The Black team won the first set convincingly 25-8. In the second set we struggled but came out victorious 25-20. The Purple team also breezed in the first set 25-9. The second set we had to work harder but still won 25-14.  Thank you to all that donated to our Dig Pink fund and supported the cause by wearing pink!

Our next game is at Jane Long next Thurs. and our last game is Oct. 30 against the other middle school here at CSMS. Come support these wonderful young ladies!

  1. REMEMBER CUBS - Monday will be Blue Out Bullying day.
