SEPTEMBER 10, 2014


1.     Attention Cubs, 

        Robotics will be having a cupcake sale this week! We will be selling cupcakes by the back hall in front of the trophies. They will be $1. We appreciate your support! Thanks! 


2.      We will be having a hat day on Friday to raise money for Alzheimer's Awareness. The cost to wear your hat is only $1.00. Bring your money to the cafeteria stage before school on Friday morning to get stamped. This will allow you to wear your hat all day. DON'T FORGET THIS IS FRIDAY!


3.     Come visit our Kingdom of Books at the annual CSMS Book fair from Sept 15th-19th.
Open from 5:30-8:00 during Open House on Monday Sept 15th. We will be having daily drawings starting Tuesday for free books from a selected choice of books.
Hope to see you at the book fair.



4.      7th and 8th graders interested in becoming the CSMS Cub Mascot, there will be a mandatory meeting tomorrow morning or tomorrow afternoon after school in room 511. You must attend only one of the meetings in order to eligible. For more questions please contact Mrs. Cain.

CSMS 7th grade will travel to Davilla next Monday.  CSMS 8th will host Davilla on Tuesday.



The Cross Country team competed locally this past weekend in the Allen Academy meet held at Tonkaway Ranch. It was hot, humid and the course was very tough with hills, rocks, and sand. Still, the teams from CSMS prevailed and came home with 2 nice first place trophies!!


Top runners for the winning 8th grade boy’s team were:

Connor Lindsey - 5th

                         Shepherd Grimes - 6th


Kit Cawley - 9th                     Matthew McGinnis - 13th                 Matthew White - 16th




The 8th grade girls team also won and had the overall leader with AK Bradford finishing the grueling course in 14:29.

Our other top scorers for the Lady Cubs were:



Shawnee Chavez - 3rd          Sloan Peacock - 4th


Erin Clendenin - 9th                                       Cayce Gaston - 11th


Our other team of boys which consisted of mainly 7th grade boys and a few 8th graders finished 3rd, just 8 points behind Rayburn. Zach Childers led the way for this team followed by


Jaden Howe,


 Garrett West,                         Scott Decker, and                             Joseph Benn.



7th grade girls’ team made a good showing in the race of over 95 runners including 8th graders and finished 6th. Avery Seagraves paced the team coming in 9th overall.



Rounding out the top 5 were:


Sterling West - 16th                                        Ashlyn Wood - 30th





Audrey Clendenin - 32nd                                           Brooklyn Andrus - 35th
