CSMS Daily Announcements for Mar. 19

CSMS Announcements

March 19, 2014

Can you answer these questions:  What is the 5th most visited country in the world?  What country has three active volcanoes?  What country's native dish is pasta?  If you guessed Italy, you're right!

Spend a week in Italy next spring break with Mrs. Sampson!   There is an informational meeting about a spring break trip to Italy next Tuesday, March 25th, at 5:30 in Mrs. Sampson's classroom.  There are also brochures you can pick up ahead of time from her.  Ciao!

Attention Student Council and NJHS Members:

It's rodeo time!  Greens Prairie Elementary Rodeo, that is!

They need volunteers next weekend, March 28th and 29th, to help set up, man the cake walk, help with the bounce house, sell tickets, paint faces, etc.

Set up will be Friday, March 28th, and the rodeo is Saturday, March 29th.  There is a sign-up sheet outside Mrs. Sampson's classroom door if you'd like to volunteer for a shift or two!

Science Club will meet in Ms. Ahmed's room 520 tomorrow, March 20th, after school. All students are welcome to attend. This week, you may bring your own snack or drink.

7th graders who received an NJHS envelope and application, LISTEN UP!!!!  All applications are due to Mrs. Holland no later than Monday, March 31st.  Please make sure that you turn your application in when you attend the writing sessions.  If you have any questions at all, please come speak with Mrs. Holland in room 519 before or after school, or between classes.

"What up, CSMS.  If you are a member of Ms. Street's Oral Reading team and are competing in this Saturday's invitational meet at Oakwood, remember: we are meeting every day this week after school!!  Come in ready to polish up those poems to pristine performance level!  See ya this afternoon!"

Hey Cubs! It's iRead! week!  Tomorrow is our next iRead! day, so plan ahead and make sure you have a book to read tomorrow.

Attention UIL Maps, Graphs, and Charts team members.  There will be a very short, mandatory meeting after school tomorrow.  The meeting will be in room 418 at 3:45.  Again, that is room 418.  If you cannot attend the meeting for any reason, please stop by room 418 to talk to Ms. Wilson beforehand.

Hi Cubs!  If you are interested in writing for Cub Chronicle, the student newspaper, OR being considered for next year's Yearbook Staff, stop by room 712 (the choir room) and get some info from Mrs. Peoples.  Come by before the end of this week!

Cubs!  Do you want a regular meal at home or a great steak from the Texas Roadhouse?  Tell your parents to take you out on Monday March 24th.  Our school receives 10% back from all purchases that night when you mention CSMS.  Come out and have a great spirit night at Texas Roadhouse!

8th grade students.  If you wish to sign up for a 9th grade English, math, science, or history class other than the one recommended by your teacher, then your parents must attend one of the scheduled waiver meetings.  They will be held in the CSHS LGI on Monday, March 24 at 12:00 noon and 5:30PM or Thursday, March 27 at 12:00 noon and 5:30PM.

Hey Cubs! Don't forget that it's  iRead! week!  Tomorrow is our next iRead! day, so be sure and bring a book to your third period class tomorrow.
